The Society has an active Scottish Country Dancing Section which meets 7.30pm on Friday evenings in the Montpelier Hall, St Andrews United Reformed Church, Cheltenham.    The Country Dancing page gives details.


Guests of members, and visitors are welcome to attend the Society's events and activities.

The Society exists to promote good fellowship among st its members, to encourage the study and appreciation of Scottish history and literature, and to preserve Scottish folklore, music and song, dancing and traditions. The Society was founded by exiled Scots on 30 November 1929 under the presidency of the Earl of Weymss and March 

Throughout the year the Society organises a number of meetings and social gatherings which has included a St Andrew's Day Lunch, a Hogmanay Party, a Burns Supper, a Spring Dance, a Summer Dance and other events.  This year we will have a reduced program. See the Events page. The Society publishes a Bulletin.


Membership is open to anyone having an interest in Scottish heritage, history, literature, music, song and dancing.  The current ordinary annual subscription rate is £5 per person.
